Paper Dolls

When I was a child, I loved playing with paper dolls. The only problem playing with paper dolls is you never have enough clothing and accessories. Once you’ve exhausted all the combinations there really is nothing more to do. In a way they should come like magazine subscriptions with new style pages every month. This is my updated version of paper dolls.

Here, I can be my own fashion editor. I spend a lot of time imagining and reimagining my vast virtual wardrobe. With Pinterest, Instagram and global online shopping there are truly limitless choices for fashion inspiration. In real life, my gal pal Em is my style idol. She sends me daily posts of what she’s wearing. She is a whiz at vintage shopping. While I, on the other hand love the scent and feel of things modern and brand new.

This kind of style play is strictly for grown-ups. With Apple Pay, PayPal and virtual wallets making shopping one-click events I must exercise constraint.
