Welcome to the new normal.
With everyone home nowadays, the whole world is on the web, working and staying in touch. But at the end of the day or weekend more then ever I just want to disconnect. Monopoly is my all-time favorite, it takes me back to nostalgic happy memories. My older brother Robin taught me Monopoly and then promptly beat me and my younger brother at it. I don’t think I have ever beaten Robin at the game. Maybe one or twice. Over the years, I played with siblings and cousins then nephews and nieces. These strange “sci-fi-esque” time makes me yearn for an hour or two playing carefree just like way back when. It’s familiar during the unfamiliar.
The hubby’s favorite game is Scrabble. He must have the same nostalgic feelings. We started playing Scrabble and Monopoly with nephews and nieces years ago.

I could not resist L.L. Beans Deluxe Monopoly & Scrabble Edition. There is a real premium feel to the boards and the pieces. There is even the option for custom engraving. It is collector priced at $169 and available at their website (on back-order). Another sign of these changing times. We were still able to order and receive our set a week ago. L.L. Beans’ Customer Service is stellar. They immediately replaced a set that was damaged on delivery with a minimum off fuzz.
Hopefully, this is the last classic Monopoly/Scrabble game we will ever buy. We have moved and moved over the years, giving away our share of board games. Hope to keep playing together for years to come.
